 What this statement is saying is that its better to lose or not get anything then to get it by cheating the game or something else.
 If you were playing black ops 2 with your friend and then he says hes going to the rest room so you take your chances and attack him so many times then when the times he gets back from the rest room you might be winning by 10 and then he gets mad cause you didnt wait like he told you to.  Best thing to do in a game is play fare and have fun oh ever wins is just a little better then you or something like that.
